Chuck Vella is the president and owner of vellaINC. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President and a shareholder with Edward Howard, a state-wide, employee-owned public relations firm that specialized in crisis communications.
Vella helps clients manage complex communications challenges. He has have significant experience in Healthcare, Financial Markets, Post-secondary Education, and Education Reform and Energy, locally, regionally, and nationally. Clients also include non-profit organizations within the social services, recreation, education, economic development, and other sectors.
He is a New York native and a double alumnus of Syracuse University with a Bachelors of Arts in Literature and a Master’s degree in Journalism.
Community involvement includes Board of Directors and board officer positions for the Greater Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Daybreak Board Chair, a Trustee of the boards of Dayton Opera, the Dayton Black Cultural Festival, and the Akron Urban League. He also was chair of the Dayton Racquet Club Board of Advisors for more than 10 years and is past president of the Board of the contemporary dayton, (formerly the Dayton Visual Arts Center).
He lives in Centerville with his wife Dona. They have three adult children and two grandchildren, all of whom reside in the Dayton area.
